What do you wish alerts told you during an emergency?

The University of Georgia’s Institute for Disaster Management, along with the USDA Forest Service, is seeking individuals to share feedback on emergency notifications.

We want to hear from you! Your feedback can help us improve the way emergency notifications are written and shared nationwide.

Open to the Public

The chats are open to all in the Southeast United States, and we are seeking individuals from all backgrounds to share their perspectives.

  • March 4th at 1 PM EST OR March 6th at 12 PM EST
  • Participants will receive a $20 prepaid virtual Visa gift card. Participation limited to 100 total registrants. See below for more details.

The Fireside Chats are interactive, virtual conversations designed to gather feedback from the public about emergency alerts.

Gift Card Eligibility & Distribution

Gift cards are limited and contingent upon attendance.

  • A $20 prepaid virtual Visa gift card will be provided to individuals who attend 1 (one) Fireside Chat session in full.
  • Registration and attendance are limited to 100 participants total across both sessions.
  • Gift cards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis based on completed attendance.
  • Participants must register in advance and attend one of the scheduled sessions to be eligible.
  • Only one gift card per person will be issued.
  • Gift cards will be distributed electronically after the session.
  • Prepaid Visa card approval and award will follow all UGA Policies, including that recipients must reside within the United States and have a valid US email address.
