Austin Dobbs, MA

Emergency Preparedness Manager

Austin Dobbs is an Emergency Preparedness Manager at the University of Georgia’s Institute for Disaster Management (IDM). He received his Bachelors and Masters from the University of Georgia and obtained numerous certifications in the field of emergency management. His area of expertise addresses the intersection of public policy and emergency preparedness.

In his role, he manages and supports various emergency preparedness and workforce enhancement programs that aim to safeguard vulnerable populations and assist those who support them. His primary role is helping manage the Emergency Notification Systems Grant Program and the Georgia CNA Virtual Skills Evaluation Program.  Austin has given presentations and speaking engagements in Georgia and elsewhere within the United States, as well as helping further IDM’s research goals. He has also taught the DMAN 3200 – Disaster Policy class.

Austin loves getting outside to spend time with family and friends. He also enjoys writing poetry.
