Emergency Preparedness Manager

Austin Dobbs is an Emergency Preparedness Manager at the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Institute for Disaster Management. He received his Bachelors and Masters from the University of Georgia. His Masters was in Political Science and International Affairs with a Graduate Certificate in Disaster Management. Along with numerous certifications from the field of emergency management.

In his role, he serves as a logistics coordinator for in-office and field activities in the development and execution of disaster planning and preparedness projects. His primary role is managing the Georgia CNA Career Pathway Initiative. This grant-supported initiative seeks to increase the number of certified nursing assistants in Georgia’s long-term care workforce and support long-term care facilities and their staff. Austin has given presentations and speaking engagements in Georgia and elsewhere within the United States. He has also taught the DMAN 3200 – Disaster Policy class.

Austin loves to get outside and hike or play sports with friends and family. He’s also had a poem published.
