The Georgia Long Term Care Emergency Preparedness Educational Program, funded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) Funds, was granted the opportunity to provide an Emergency Preparedness (EP) Kit to all certified long term care facilities who participated in the program prior to September 30, 2020.
Each EP Kit has items valued at $1000 total including: two rolling duffel bags, headlamps, flashlights, batteries, trauma shears, tourniquets, trauma dressings, cloth litters for patient transport, duct tape, multi-tools, water purification tablets, and more.
These items are useful whether the certified facility is sheltering-in-place or evacuating its residents and staff. Each EP Kit includes an informational packet with storage, training, and use considerations for the included items.
