Kathy Shelnutt
Administrative Grants Manager
Kathy Shelnutt is the Administrative Grants Manager at the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Institute for Disaster Management. She is the primary post-award service departmental contact for IDM sponsored projects.
In her role, Kathy is responsible for assisting principal investigators with all administrative aspects of awards. This includes processing reimbursements, purchasing, monitoring budgets, reconciling expenses, processing invoices, and assisting with submitting progress reports and no-cost extensions. She helps ensure all account financial activities are in compliance with UGA and external funding agencies’ requirements.
Kathy has many years of UGA accounting experience and has been with IDM since 2017. In her extremely limited and forced spare time, she enjoys gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and farms with her husband.
