Alex Lott is a Scientific Writer at the University of Georgia’s Institute for Disaster Management. He is a former lawyer, specializing in research and writing. Alex obtained his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from William and Mary Law School.
He worked in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals’ Staff Attorney’s Office for over two years and clerked for the Hon. Peter T. Fay for 2 years.
As a Scientific Writer for IDM, Alex writes and edits scientific manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals, proofreads and refines grant proposals, and leads workshops and training sessions for staff on scientific writing skills.
In his free time, Alex enjoys writing fiction, drawing, painting, playing video and board games, and riding his motorcycle.
